Rangers Soccer School 26,27,28 AUGUST 2009
Having secured funding from Castlereagh Council, BAMAG organised a visit from Glasgow Rangers in the form of a Soccer School. The idea taken from an associate group, Kilcooley Action Group, Bangor and their relationship with Rangers saw us over a number of months organise and plan the soccer school to place in Belvoir Park over the period 26th, 27th and 28th August 2009. The idea as this was our first attempt at running such an event was to provide up to 32 children with an opportunity to spend some time with professional coaches, Greg Statt and Steven Mundell from the Scottish Pemier League Champions in order to identify any talented young people as well as enhancing and promoting their football skills.
Below is a photographic record of the event as it progresses and we will be publishing a full report on completion later in the week. We would like to take this early opportunity of thanking each and every person and group that has made this event possible and will make a more specific statement with thanks later.
Day one 26th Aug 09

The day started despite the earlier atrocious weather with 29 kids from Belvoir, Carryduff and Four Winds attending. The picture above is all the kids in their newly aquired Rangers kits being keenly supervised by coaches Steven and Gregg.

The Coaches Steven (L) and Greg (R) take the opportunity to award a prize to the person from each of their groups that have excelled during the training period. In this case their chosen winners were presented with official Glasgow Rangers junior supporters scarves. Greg pointed out to all the kids that just because only one person from each group had received an award it should not detract from the great effort all those attending today had made in order to make Soccer School day one a big success.
Day two 27th Aug 09
